What is Pilates?

Whether you practise Mat, Reformer or Aerial – Pilates is an exercise that aims to strengthen your body and improve your general fitness and well-being, whether you decide to participate in a class that utilises Pilates equipment or not, you will leave feeling the results of a great, strenuous workout!

Aerial Pilates

Aerial Pilates involves practising Pilates exercises in the air by suspending the body, or parts of the body in a fabric hammock. Aerial Pilates helps to increase flexibility and strength, physical awareness, releases tension and offers the opportunity for mindfulness practice.

Mat Pilates is performing the Pilates method on a mat, meaning you can practice Pilates anywhere. Mat Pilates allows you to have slow control over your movements, it helps to strengthen your body’s core by improving pelvic stability, abdominal control and focuses on your breathing patterns. It improves your flexibility, muscle tone balance, spinal support and mind-body awareness.
