It’s all in the position
When doing Pilates and if you really want to learn how to do it correctly it’s all in the position.
But what do I mean by this?
It is actually pretty simple.
The positions in which we have our body while doing a certain movement will determine how much you will actually get from said movement.
If your position is not quite right on the machine you may not get all the benefits from doing Pilates.
This is also important when it comes to having something like lower back pain.
If you are not in the correct position you are more likely to actually exacerbate the problem.
Pilates should help us not hinder us.
I don’t want to scare you off but this is why we always talk about awareness in yourself to help you get the most from our classes.
So how do you know if your position is correct?
Below I have put together a series of videos of the most commonly used exercises in class.
These explain in a little bit more about certain positions the body needs to be in so you get the most out of that movement.
Supine
Side Lying
Lunge
Side Plank
4 Point Kneeling
Plank
Finding the correct position will not only give you the most from our classes but also rid you of your Back Pain once and for all.
So how is your position?
Can you safely say you are fully aware of your body and the position it is in when doing a movement.
These things seem so simple but in actual fact are very underrated when it comes to doing exercise.
