What makes Pilates so great?

What makes Pilates so great?

What makes Pilates so great?

Having a Pilates studio may make me biased when it comes to Pilates.

Let me tell you a little secret.

I have only been doing Pilates myself since 2015.

I have always done other forms of exercise but never dabbled with anything like Pilates before.

My body was very unstable, i had no coordination, i was riddled with injuries and had no body awareness.

Even when I first did the Pilates course I had no idea that one day I would have my own studio.

So why is Pilates so great?

For me it has given me back control of my body.

The feeling of creating stability and awareness in the body has provided me with so much confidence in myself.

This may seem like a strange thing to say, but when you eventually get there it’s an amazing feeling.

Nothing feels quite as good as being Pilates strong.

It’s amazing how many people think that Pilates is easy.

The only way it can be easy is if you are not doing it right.

The way we teach in the studio means it will never be easy and you get one hell of a workout.

So I wanted to share some of my favourite exercises on the Reformer.

I use these in classes on the regular.

They hit those hard to reach areas that need that extra TLC sometimes.

Let’s get started.

So why are these my favourite exercises?

  1. We are targeting the muscles that get neglected the most and are the primary case for most cases of back pain.
  2. I am helping to create all round stability and strength in the body
  3.  I am making sure you know what it means to be strong and that this is not just another Pilates class. We mean business.
  4. You get instant results as long as you are consistent and come on the regular.
