Pilates is essential to Marie given an early history of chronic back pain and a prolapsed L5-S1 disc, An MRI revealed more serious damage to T11-12 & spinal column. She is now post-operative from major spine surgery for spinal stenosis to avoid paralysation. She sees the method as a saviour given how kind and essential Pilates has been for her own successful rehabilitation. Marie still has a prolapsed disc and keeps her pain and symptoms managed by practicing Pilates methods.

Marie recognises there are essential health benefits of participating in Pilates for everyone especially for posture improvement and avoiding possible injury from incorrect exercise, but it is specifically significant for injured people to find the balance to heal and meet fitness goals.

As well as exercise and all things health related, for fun and relaxation Marie enjoys sunny holidays, cycling, dancing, festivals, walks in the countryside and container gardening.
